The worries of aging have existed since the very beginning. Why can we not all stay young and viral throughout our entire lives and continue having the unlimited energy as we had in our earlier days of youth? Why do we have to go from smooth and flawless to wrinkly with imperfections. Can you slow down aging you ask?
We’re born, we live, and then we die! (in between these stages we are constantly aging). From the age of 35 we have been told that our bodies are in a state of decay, that our cells no longer renew as fast as they once did, that our joints and bones will weaken through possible arthritis, that our eyesight and hearing will gradually become worse over time.
Sounds grim doesn’t it? Well that’s just how it goes and there is nothing we can do about it, right?
No, WRONG, WRONG, WRONG!
So the question you ask again is, “Can you slow down aging?”
Such a huge subject! Where to start? Well, lets start by really unpinning the beliefs that are ingrained in society regarding aging. Let’s analyze it all and take the whole thing apart piece by piece!
Let’s first get the negatives out of the way as these are normally the only bits of information we have on it all and what we generally tend to focus on.
What Happens With Age?
As you get older your skin loses elasticity and bones become more visible due to depletion of fat store losses. Your skin dries out a lot more as a result of less natural oil being produced. You lose muscle mass resulting in jelly like limbs in addition to bones becoming weaker and more hollow.
Our brains are also destined to become slower and less responsive. Along with this our memories begin to fail, teeth fall out lose and sex apparantly becomes a task that only the young are able to perform.
That’s the lot right, or do you want more?
OK – Here are some more!
- Fat increases as a percentage of body weight
- Strength and energy dissapear
- Increase in Blood Pressure
- Bone mineral density decreases
- Hair turns grey or falls out
- Kidney functions decrease
- Liver spots appear
- Testosterone drops
- Lose Sense of Taste
We could actually go on and on if we wanted to, but I think we’ve all got the picture now! The fact is all the above are indeed very real scenarios and do happen, nobody is denying that. But why do they happen and more importantly can we do anything about them?

Is There a Fountain of Youth?
By 35 we start paying extra attention to that mirror. Have those frown lines and wrinkles started to take shape? Maybe yours eyes not as sparkly as they once were.
The truth is we as society have been so conditioned to believe that this happens, and as a result we subconsciously expect it to. Turning 40 is such a milestone in people’s life that they you put so much expectation and anxiety regarding it.
People have in their minds a perfect ideology of where they expect their life to be at that magic number, maybe it’s marriage with kids, maybe it’s having amased lots of money, or travel the world. Whatever it is life doesn’t always play out the way we once imagined it.
This self dissapointment puts on additional stress and worry upon our bodies and guess what happens. It actually speeds up the aging process. If we only knew to just leg go of fear and worry we could just let nature takes it course but at a much more natural pace.
In addition to the physical side we have disccussed, it’s ultimately our mentality that really ages us. You see, our minds are the ultimate fountain of youth. If at 40 years you have subconsciously accepted the impressions of past generations of what happens past a certain age, then guess what? That’s exactly what is going to happen.
Your mind is the ultimate tool used for everything in life. Do you not believe that your mind has true power to fast forward aging by thoughts of fear, worry and the feeling of becoming decrepid with age. Well think again!
Our subconcious mind controls every aspect of our being, both mental and physcial so it stands to reason that our wellbeing and bodily processes are indeed dependant on it. If you tell yourself at a certain age that you’re too old to be doing that, then guess what, you will start feeling too old to do that something.
Tell youself that your not as fit as you used to be, and then predict what happens next! BOOM – You won’t be as fit as your once were. Tell yourself your not as strong as you used to be, then quick as a flash your mind will accept that command and you will begin to feel weak, slow and unhealthy.
Just look at how the majority of individuals think (but not all). They truly believe that at a certain age their bodies will slow down, decay, and shrivel up to nothing. 9 times out of 10 this is exactly what they will get. You see, it does work whichever way you believe it to. Sounds like woo woo fantasy talk you say!
I know it does, but if you truly understood the power of your mind you could indeed use it to harness it’s good energy for health, youth, wealth or pretty much whatever you desire.
So if it works to make your fears and anxiety come true, then it stands to reason that your mind also has the ability to perform the opposite for the positive benefits. Think to youself that you are improving with age, or becoming stronger, fitter, then that’s exactly what will happen.
I’m not saying that by thinking you will remain in the body of a 20 year old at age 50. The body will always naturally age but the key word here to take notice of is naturally. What I can say to you is that you will be the best version of yourself at whatever age you are, and that you will also be comfortable with whatever number of years you reach.
Believe that you can, and you can!
Fear in Thoughts
Have you ever noticed that generations of the past always seem to appear older that they are? Try and remember family members when they were younger that you are now. Everyone seemed so grown up back then and everything was taken a lot more seriously than people do now.
You may remember your parents at the the age you are now. Subconsciously you have forced that impression on your own life phases. You may remember your parents complaining of aches and pains back then and now that you have reached those same years, your subconscious expectation has set in to bring about and manifest exactly that.
As we mentioned above darkness is the absence of light, and like being sick is simply the absence of health. If you see yourself as in ‘perfect health’ then aches and pains cannot get to you.
Have you ever noticed that although doctors and nurses whilst surrounded by sick people, do so without any fear, and as a result suffer from pain and sickness much less than the average person. Coincidence?
The fear of sickness is what actually creates the manifestation of being sick. As children we have always been told that a draft will give us a cold if we are exposed to it. So what happens after being exposed to a draft. Well, we tend to imagine that we will now get sick after that moment and naturally we do get sick.
The diseases and illness that we imaging in our thoughts are built upon on our bodies. Fear interferes with our digestion system and changes secretions within the body as well as laying down wrinkles and turns our hair grey or fall out.
If we only understood that the action of worry is exactly that which brings on the situation that we are worring about. Let go of the small worries and anxiety and you will feel a huge weight has been lifted from you and at the same time really start to enjoy your life instead of fearing this or that happening!
Disease & Aging
As we get older things just start to go wrong. Disease just goes hand and hand with age.
Most will say ‘It’s just what happens as we age’ – but what about those individuals that it doesn’t happen to. What about those that time has no effect on in terms of illness and decrepancy.
I guess genes are the typical common explanation as to why disease affects some and not others. True – but why? What’s behind our genes. Well – the only intelligence that controls are bodily functions is our mind.
The person who is looking for wisdom, success and health will only find it within themselves. Our bodies being sick are an effect. The actual cause is down to the images of thought that we imprint upon our subsconcious mind.
If we as individuals decided instead to think thoughts of perfect health instead of disease and sickness we would truly be able to create a body of perfection. Fear of disease is everywhere – turn on your TV and no doubt you will see a movie or documentary centred around illness.
Through these channels it is suggested to our subconscious minds constantly. Even children from a very early age are constantly impressed upon by images of outside influence. The anxiety and worries of our outside influences shape and mould the people that we grow up to be.
You literally owe it to yourself to let go of old beliefs centered around disease being a part of growing old. Instead of constantly impressing the mind with thoughts such as these, sign up to a gym, take up running and start watching what you eat. Substitute the negative thoughts with those of a positive natures.
Darkness is simply the absence of light, so if you wish to leave behind dark thoughts of disease, replace them with light thoughts of health and well-being!

Here are some quotes of wise individuals who truly understand the connection between mind and aging.
Sophia Loren – “There is a fountain of youth: it is your mind, your talents, the creativity you bring to your life and the lives of people you love. When you learn to tap this source, you will truly have defeated age”
Mark Twain – “Age is an issue of mind over matter. If you don’t mind, it doesn’t matter”
Henry Ford – “Anyone who stops learning is old, whether at twenty or eighty. Anyone who keeps learning stays young. This greatest thing in life is to keep your mind going”
George Burns – “You can’t help getting older, but you don’t have to get old”
Samuel Ullman – “Nobody grows old merely by living a number of years. We grow old by deserting our ideals. Years may wrinkle the skin, but to give up enthusiasm wrinkles the soul”
Steve Jobs – “Creativity is just connecting things. When you ask creative people how they did something, they feel a little guilty because they didn’t really do it, they just saw something. It seemed obvious to them after a while. That’s because they were able to connect experiences they’ve had and synthesize new things”
Can Technology Help?
I don’t see why not. I believe that our minds provide everything we need in regards to obtaining anything we desire, in every aspect. It’s the golden thread that runs through everything in my opinion, from being ill and aging to achieving dreams of grandeur and prosperity. It truly is the most powerful tool and the only one you will ever need to conquer anything.
At the same time, we are living in a age of technological marvel. Think of how far the world has evolved through technology with the last hundred years. Imaging where we will be in just the next 50 years.
It’s hard to predict exactly where will be by then, but one thing is for sure. It never stops. In regards to the title of this article; if you really want to slow down aging than one piece of technological innovation is red light technology. Light therapy can grow, rejuvenate and heal damaged skin. This is a proven fact.
I’m not going to get into the details of this technology as there much more focused and detailed articles you can find on the internet to learn from.
I realize this website is primarily based on the power and development of mind but red light technology is something that really works in my opinion and if slowing down aging is something you are truly interested then you really do owe it to yourself. Check one out for yourself HERE!
Just some of the benefits of red light include:
- Improve complextion and skin tone
- Stimulation of collagen and elastin
- Enhances athletic performance and also muscle recovery time
- Reduces joint pain, arthritus pain
- Improves appearance of wrinkles and stretch marks
- Reduces eczema & acne
- Increases blood circulation
- Speeds up healing of injuries.
At the same time I believe the technology works so well due to the belief that you feel it working in your mind. I have a small device I use a few times a week.
Give it a try, you might just like it.
We all grow older day by day. It’s the way of the world and nothing to threat upon. Try not to let that be the fixation point that you focus on. Enjoy and make the most of each day, indeed as it were the last and remember that the destination is not important – what counts is the journey that we take to get there!
